Global Call for Ideas

A turning point for people and planet

In a critical year for climate action and climate justice, we need to keep in mind that climate change is not on pause and is more visible than ever: weather patterns are changing, sea levels are rising, and weather events are becoming more extreme.

2019 was the second warmest year on record: with a global average temperature of 1.1°C above estima- ted pre-industrial levels, the global community is far off track to meet either the 1.5 or 2°C targets called for in the Paris Agreement.
